“No man ever steps in the same river twice,
for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.” – Heraclitus
For life changing moments, experience this amazing Mountain Fork River property, known as Boondockers Landing River Resort. This resort lies at the foot of the Ouachita Mountains, where Rock Creek and the Upper Mountain Fork River converge; just 30 minutes north of the fast growing town of Hochatown and beautiful Beavers Bend State Park and Lake, Oklahoma. Centrally located, this exceptional retreat is approximately 3.5 hours from Dallas, Oklahoma City, and Little Rock. Closer in distances are Tulsa, Fort Smith, Texarkana and the well-known, historic, touristy town of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
This unique property is ideal for holidays, special occasions, weekend getaways, or a vacation destination. Visitors and guests can take a nature stroll; drift on a float or paddle a canoe along the property’s 3/4-mile river and creek frontages; sunbathe by the pool; enjoy coffee in an early morning sunrise, read a good book until sunset; or share stories, in the cool of the evening, around a campfire with family and friends. More lively activities include hiking, walking the riverside trail, rafting, kayaking, fishing, hunting, or bird watching. Horseshoes, blongo, and croquet are favorites among outdoor games.
Boondockers Landing is an Eden for other entertainment: informal hoedowns on the bank of the river; occasional powwows; services for barbecues, weddings and family reunions; ropes course or zip-line; rental ATVs; geocaching; nighttime ATV/pickup rides searching for Big Foot-after all, the reigning hide-and-seek champ’s 'Big Foot' festival is held each year just up the road in Hobnobia, Oklahoma.
