COMMENTS: This multipurpose recreational track benefits from
a “Wild Life Conservation Easement” on part of the property that is
best suited for hunting. The conservation easement will ensure that hunting and
recreation are the main focus of this tract for generations to come. The
property is also part of the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife DMAP program.
(Deer Management Assistance Program) The DMAP program is designed to allow land
owners along with neighboring land owners who are enrolled in the program to
manage their property for trophy whitetail with the assistance of area wildlife
biologist. The program allows for extra doe tags if needed and provides
specific goals and recommendations for improving the quality of the herd. There
are currently 3 substantial food plots that are annually planted and maintained
for supplemental nutrition for the deer herd. There are multiple building sites
on the property outside of the conservation easement near the entrance gate as
well as electricity along the road to the entrance. The US Fish & Wildlife
designed waterfowl marshes can be drained, via the gravity flow system, in the
off season for warm season growing of desirable waterfowl plantings. The
shallow water marshes were designed with expansion in mind to allow for
additional shallow water marsh projects in the future. There is an established
ATV trail route through the hardwood bottom that allows drive up access to the
bank of the Clear Boggy Creek in several locations. This trails route also give
excellent access to stand locations throughout the creek bottom.
Clear Boggy Ranch is
located at the end of the county road which lends to its secluded location. The
property only has a quarter mile of road frontage which is well suited for a
hunting tract. Clear Boggy Ranch
has over 1 mile of creek access and with several contagious land locked tracts
cut off by the creek the property controls access to over 800 acres.
Over the last 15 years
numerous large tracts up and down the Clear Boggy Creek have been converted
back to wetland areas designed to attract and hold waterfowl with assistance
through government sponsored conservations easements. These tracts have
concentrated migration flyways and bring in large numbers of waterfowl each and
every year. The waterfowl hunting in the area is outstanding.
